Aligned Values are Key to Successful Projects

Electrician’s first-hand experience illustrates SamT’s expertise

Atlanta, Georgia

In Robert Fowler’s opinion, there are conventional construction companies and then there is SamT Construction. The difference? Samir Doshi, whose training and experience far exceed that of most contractors.

Robert has first-hand evidence. SamT Construction and Robert’s company Full Circle Electrical, have done numerous projects together, including improvements at assisted-living homes, renovations at apartment complexes, amenities at gated communities, and new construction and updates at several medical clinics.

“Samir has a base knowledge of all the trades. What’s more, he’s had architectural training and extensive design experience,” says Robert. “That makes his opinions — and his willingness to share them — invaluable.”

Another distinguishing feature of Samir is his willingness to help someone on a project in which he has no personal or financial stake, Robert says, sharing the example of a time he was bidding on a job converting a warehouse to office and maintenance space for a trucking company. Uncertain about what percentage of each trade would make up the whole job, he turned to Samir.

“I wasn’t sure I was estimating the costs properly,” Robert says. “Samir went through the whole project with me and estimated the time and pricing nearly exactly. That kind of sharing isn’t common in our business, but then Samir is an uncommon kind of guy.”

Fowler has been an electrician for 25 years, but his company is only about six years old. He counts Samir among the most valuable resources in helping Full Circle grow, making Robert one in a long line of professionals who call on Samir for expert advice.

Robert recognizes Samir as an authority on “constructability,” moving a client’s inspired dream for a building through the hard realities of feasibility.

“Samir closes that gap by paying attention to details from the beginning — The more details you work out at the front end of a project the fewer surprises you’ll have down the road to completion,” says Robert. “I’ve seen Samir do that time and again. It’s one thing to have a change order late in the game because a client had an idea. It’s quite another to confront a change because you didn’t do the detail work to anticipate the problem.”
